Networking group celebrates 10 years.

Local networking group, BNI Collingtree, celebrated their 10 year anniversary recently with a special breakfast and motivational conference at Highgate House.

More than 35 county-based businesses joined together to celebrate the success that 10 years of regular networking meetings has bestowed on local businesses. Since January 2010 alone, more than £165,000 worth of business has been passed between members; meaning this turnover has remained within the county and has helped support local businesses through a tough year.

The day also comprised a motivational session hosted by Sarah Ward of Grow Associates which has already directly resulted in at least one significant local contract being awarded to a member. Two inspirational talks from very successful businessmen Jon Thorpe of ACS and Michael Markham of Stanair Industrial Doors provided the necessary encouragement to drive members to set their short-term goals and this was marked by the group writing these on tickets attached to balloons which were released symbolising the opportunity to reach for the sky, think positive and anything can happen.

Speaking on behalf of the 3 founder members present on the day, David Lawrence of LCS Office Cleaning Services said, “Being a member of BNI has helped me tremendously; not only with developing my business successfully, but also my own personal development in terms of skills, contacts and confidence. When you run a business the world is your oyster, but it can be a lonely place too and the Collingtree network has supported and encouraged me through highs and lows. Without them I don’t think I would be where I am today.”
