F1 Stars on the grid for Whittlebury Hall extravaganza.

16/09/02

Formula One drivers past and present will head the line-up at this year's F1 Charity Christmas dinner, being held at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire.

Current drivers Mark Webber and Anthony Davidson and former F1 stars Mark Blundell and Perry McCarthy are all expected to be among 200 guests at the black-tie event, taking place on December 6 and being organised by BNI members Richard White and Julie Holdom, of Hyperformance Events.

And TV personality Jon Desborough, who fronts Channel Four's coverage of the world rally championship, has also pledged his support for the gala night, which last year raised £4,000 for the Milton Keynes Community Foundation and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund - now known as Cancer Research UK.

And as an added bonus, guests at the event will be able to take a look at a real Formula One car, with Jenson Button hoping to lend his car for display throughout the evening.

"It promises to be another fantastic night," said Richard White, Managing Director of Hyperformance Events, who are based in Milton Keynes. "Last year's dinner was such an enormous success we not only wanted to do it all again this year, we're actually doing it by popular demand!

"Perry and Mark were our star guests last year - and enjoyed it so much they too asked us for a repeat performance," said Mr White. "Both of them e-mailed with highly complimentary comments about the venue, the food, the organisation and the general feel-good factor of the night. And we're we're in no doubt it will be bigger and better this year."

The other highlight of last year's event - the charity auction - will also be repeated, and the organisers have already been promised an impressive variety of donations guaranteed to raise plenty of money for charity.

"It'll be a night to remember - champagne, fine food, guest speakers, live music, and fantastic venue, and ultimately we hope to raise at least £10,000 for our charities, Milton Keynes Commnity Foundation and Cancer Research UK, this year," said Mr White.
