What are the benefits of ISO9000
The ISO9001 standard first appeared in 1994 (before this it was known as the UK BS5750 standard) and was updated in 2000. The 1994 version was to some extend discredited because of the heavy bureaucracy imposed on companies and by unscrupulous consultants who persuaded them that they needed more cumbersome systems than they actually did. All these issues were addressed in the 2000 version and this is much more realistic for companies to implement.
